As today is a bank holiday in celebration of the New Year there is no excuse not to spend some 'me time'.
Try to have a peaceful day, avoid stressful situations, don't do the housework, and don't argue with the kids, the husband or the dog. Warn everyone that you want to spend time today on yourself, and it's not negotiable.
Get out and walk, get those arms swinging and those legs pumping. As you walk try to hold your posture as if someone had suspended you from a hook on the top of your head. Get that neck elongated and straight, shoulders back and stomach held in. The straighter you walk the faster you'll go.
When you get back from your walk you should have rosy cheeks, a slightly elevated heart rate and your calf muscles should pleasantly let you know they've been exercising.
Tomorrow we contemplate starting a training log.
Caution: As with all exercise, if you haven't exercised for some time, or if you have any medical conditions, you should see your physician first for a checkup. Tell them what you are planning to do so they can advise based on any medical history you might have.
