The results were not what I expected, nor I think the instructor.
After running the results through the analysis program it came up with an RMR equivalent to 2,260 calories per day. So that means that I can burn 2,260 calories per day simply by sitting still and not moving a muscle all day. Yeah right!
When my level of daily normal activity was factored in, we went for the minimum as I work at a computer most of the day and it also excludes any sport/physical activity, I would need 3,100 calories to maintain my weight each day. Then of course I run, ski, hike, swim, cycle, so the calories burnt from them don't get counted at this stage.
So according to the RMR test and subsequent calculations I have the metabolic rate of a 42 year old man. Which is obviously not accurate because I'm a 42 year old women with a weight problem who can't lose weight on 2,000 calories a day.
Not to worry I was assured, the test and calculations are very accurate, and they showed no anomalies that might indicate something was wrong. Well something is wrong, I'm overweight, I'm not male and I don't eat 3,100 calories a day even when I'm not trying to lose weight.
My next step in the Body BluePrint is to have my food intake analysed. And I was told I would be contacted that very same day to organise it with their nutritional expert.
